About the Owner/Artist

Hello: I am Susana M. Nocquet-Lopez, and I like to introduce myself before you enter ANSU Gallery.  My love for art began in my native Argentina at an early age. While I have displayed my artistic expression through music and acting, painting with oils on canvas was my real passion.

Though I thoroughly enjoyed this medium, I decided to try something different. While living in New Jersey, I came across a group of artists specializing in porcelain painting who were delighted to share their artistic knowledge with me.

I learned a lot about porcelain and its many uses and history. I also learned about the oils, pigments and powders that are used to paint it.

 Porcelain

        I became inquisitive about the way porcelain was manufactured. I had the opportunity to visit France and observe several factories in Limoges. I immersed myself in this unique art by visiting museums and watching demonstrations.

      Purchasing unpainted porcelain boxes and miniatures from the most reputable manufacturers gives me the peace of mind that I am acquiring the best possible products for my customers. I thoroughly enjoy painting porcelain, especially boxes and miniatures manufactured in Limoges, France. It is fulfilling to transform a blank (unpainted) figure of pure white porcelain into a charming adornment that you will cherish.

Tiles and Murals

        I also handpaint murals and backsplashes on tiles. Besides painting on ceramic and porcelain tiles, using a relatively new technique I paint murals on tumble marble tiles. This surface is similar to travertine marble or lime stone. With these distinctive textured tiles, you can transform a contemporary patio or room into a rural corner of Tuscany, Italy or any other old town of Europe that you'd like to recreate.
